The Monday qualifier for this week's Miami Nationwide Tour event at Jacaranda CC overall was a great experience for me.  It has been almost exactly one year since I've played full time, and it's great to get back in the swing of things.  Jacaranda CC proved to be too much for me to handle out of the gates because of its length.  I'm not hitting the ball up to my capabilities yet, and my timing is a bit off.  However, I feel confident that some of the putts I missed early in the round will drop in the near future.  I also made a quadruple bogey on the fourth hole, which put me at six-over par after 4 holes of play.   I blocked my tee-shot right into the lateral water hazard but had to re-tee because the ball last crossed the hazard only 30 yards from the tee-box.  I may have reacted a bit different in the past, but I was happy that I held my composure to make birdie on number five.  The arrival of my son on September 8, 2010 has given me a more "chill" attitude on the golf course, even though I seem to be a bit more stressed off the course.  I played the duration of the round in two-over par and started to hit the ball better on the middle six and final six holes of the round; I'm confident that I will be able to work out my timing using the metronome during this week's practice sessions leading up to the next Monday Qualifier in Jacksonville on October 18th.

Lord willing, I will be going to work with my putting instructor, Mike Shannon, on Saturday morning to see if I can start the fall season off right with first-class instruction.  Also, I'm going to see Craig Allan at Sea Island to get my equipment checked right after my putting lesson.  After that, I'm hoping to play a meaningful practice round Sunday at either Marsh Creek Golf & CC or St. John's Country Club in St. Augustine.  I've played Marsh Creek with my brother in law before, and I feel very comfortable on it.  St. John's  hosted the First Stage of Q-School in 2008 where I played.  I did not make it through to the Second Stage in '08, but I felt very confident in my abilities at St. John's.  Either way, I'm excited about both courses and will be happy with playing one or the other.  Thank you for your interest in my career and keep coming back for more information and tour talk.
