Wedgewood Junior Golf Camp

Dates: One Monday through Friday camp in June.

*June 10 - June 14

Boys and Girls ages 4-16: All skill levels from beginner to competitive golfer will be accomodated. Juniors will be taught skills needed to become better individuals and golfers.

Time: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Half Day) or 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Full Day)

*** Parents are welcome to watch their kids have fun while learning about the game of golf.  

Where: Wedgewood Golf and Country Club

 

Activities: Wedgewood's Junior Golf Camps will involve improving the mind, body and spirit of each golfer. In whatever level your junior is currently, basic fundamentals ranging from the grip, posture and stance to more advanced techniques like course management and tournament preparation will be taught. Campers will experience morning Christian-based devotionals, putting and chipping stations, pitching and hitting stations as well as course play. Snacks will be provided and lunch is available at a discounted rate at the course.

Five Day Camp $65 (half) or $90 (full) | Four Day Camp $55 or $80 | Three Day Camp $45 or $70

Two Day Camp $30 or $55 |One Day Camp $15 or $30

Coaches’ Background: Brian James (B.J.) Pitzen played high school golf in Toledo, OH for St. John's Jesuit and participated in the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship tournament for three times while helping the Titans to a Division I runner-up finish in 1996. Pitzen went on to become a three time All-American in college. After transferring from Otterbein College in 2000, Pitzen played under Doug Gordin at Florida Southern College and helped the Moccasins to a second and third place finish in the Division II National championships in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

Pitzen has played as a professional since 2003 and played at the PGA Tour's Q-School seven times. Pitzen competed on the PGA Tour's Nationwide Tour (former Web.com Tour) in 2008 and is currently a tour/teaching professional and tour caddie. Pitzen's best finish was a tie for 4th place in the 2009 Amelia Island Plantation Tournament on the NGA Tour and low tournament round is a 63 at the 2005 Buffalo Run Classic NGA Tour event at Peoria Ridge Golf Club in Miami, OK. Pitzen has recorded two holes-in-one in competition and has also competed on the Canadian Tour, NGA Tour, eGolf (Tarheel) Tour, Florida Professional Golf Tour (formerly known as the North Florida PGA Tour), Moonlightgolf.com Tour and former Maverick Tour.
