Rod Perry was the first alternate with a 71(-1). 76; 2 birdies, 2 bogeys, dbld #3 & #18; 70 qualified like I thought it would; I gave myself a chance but needed 4 birdies coming down the stretch and only birdied No. 11 then all pars ‘til No. 18; putter was streaky but let me down with two 3-putts (still fighting yips on short range 3-6 ft.); irons were better than expected except No. 18. Drive the ball well except No. 3.
